Harry E. Corl Jr. (Bud)
Harry E. Corl, Jr. (Bud), 73, of League
City, surrounded by his family, went to be with his parents
and family in Heaven on June 17, 2009 after a courageous
battle with cancer.
He was a loving and caring man who cherished his wife,
children and especially his 17 grandchildren. Bud proudly
served his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps and as a peace
officer in
Monroeville,
PA. He later decided to become an
owner/operator in the trucking industry. Bud raised his
children with love, kindness, strong values and discipline,
and his inspiration, strength and encouragement prepared
them to always strive to do the best they can do.
A great husband, father, grandfather,
brother, son, uncle, cousin and friend, dad was cherished by so
many people – including those who considered him and mom
their adopted parents. He dearly loved his wife and said she
is the love of his life. A great story teller and great
listener, he always took the time to help anyone in need and
was always ready to lend a hand whenever needed. Dad always
believed in family first and everything he did was for his
family. He instilled in his children, a strong work ethic
and the belief that you shouldn’t do anything unless you do
it right and the best you can do. He also taught his kids to
dream big and set goals, and he’s often where we turned
first for advice, direction or a hug and reassurance.
To his grandchildren, he was invincible.
Pappy has always been the guy who could build anything, fix
anything and take care of anything. Pappy was also a great
lap on which the kids could sit and read a book or take a
nap, and the big strong arms that could easily hold a lot of
his grand kids at one time. He has made such an impact on so
many people and will certainly leave a lasting impression on
all who knew him, and countless fond memories for his family
to cherish.
Dad’s strength, resilience and character
are among his many attributes, but it was until he faced his
toughest battle, did everyone see what he was truly made of.
A fighter until the end, he had amazing will to live and
constant concern for his family and said he wasn’t quitting
or giving in. From the day he was diagnosed with cancer
until his last day, he maintained a positive outlook and
sense of humor, often making us all laugh, even during the
days when he faced so much pain.
He is survived by his loving wife,
Betty; children, Lisa Zapalac and husband Stephen, Scott
Corl and wife Amanda,
Christian Corl and Lisa Vitale, Michael Corl, James
Pomier and wife Judy, Scott Payne and wife Juany; brothers,
Gene Corl and wife Elsie, Paul Corl and wife Sue Ann;
sister-in-law, Nancy Gorman; grandchildren Hannah, Noah,
Christopher, Cheyenne, Reese, Cassidi, Annalisa, Shelby,
Zachary, Samantha, Morgan, Colton, Andrew, Ryan, Jordan,
Nicholas and Monica; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving
family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father,
mother, stepmother and daughter in law, Laura.
Visitation will be Monday, June 22, 2009 from 5:00 to 9:00
P.M. with a wake service to begin at 7:00 P.M. at Crowder
Funeral Home Pearland, 2422 Broadway Pearland, TX 77581.

Tuesday, June 23rd at St Helen Catholic Church,
2209 Old Alvin Road Pearland, TX 77581 with Father Wayne
Wilkerson and Father Reginald Nesvadba officiating.
Internment will follow at
