Roseland Marie Larson
Roseland Marie Larson, age 64, passed from this life on July 24, 2026. She was born on October 10, 1961 in Clovis, New Mexico to parents, John Buckreis and Catherine Buckreis.
She worked as heavy equipment operator for most of her life and her last job was at the United States Antarctic Program. She lived life as a free spirit and had a life full of adventures.
Roseland is preceded in death by her son, John Carl Larson; sister, Robin Buckreis and brother, Rick Buckreis. She leaves behind to treasure her memory, daughter, Leiloni Marie Vanderslice and husband, Jackie; daughter-in-law, Meagan Larson Wisniewski and brother, Robert “Buck” Buckreis and wife, Lynda.
In her honor, there will be a memorial service on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 3:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas.
Pozi was more than a coworker. She was a true friend. We spent years working together as women in an Alaska mining camp, and through those years I came to know a remarkable person.
She was one of the hardest-working people I have ever met, yet she never lost her sense of humor or her kindness. She could brighten a room with her laughter, and she always had a kind word, a listening ear, or a story to share. Her stories about the journey of her life were unforgettable and reflected the courage, resilience, and joy that defined her.
Pozi was the person you wanted beside you when times were tough. She was loyal, supportive, and always had your back. Her friendship was a gift, and I am grateful for every memory we shared.
I will miss her laughter, her stories, and her unwavering friendship.
Love you, Pozi. Rest easy, my friend.

Pozi was a wonderful person with a spirit that lit up every room she entered. I love her, and I never forget the day I met her because she was the kind of soul you don’t forget. Whenever she called her mother, her mother would always say, “I have a personal chef,” and Pozi would laugh and say, “I have to meet this chef.”
One day I asked her mother, “What food does Pozi love?”
Her mother said, “Liver and onions.”So the day Pozi came down, I made liver and onions just for her and her mom. And from that moment forward, you couldn’t help but fall in love with the person she was, her warmth, her humor, her kindness, her personality that wrapped around you like a hug.
Pozi will be missed so much. Her presence was a gift, her memory a blessing, and her spirit something we will carry with us always.
