Thomas Mabry Atkins, a long-time resident of Baytown, Texas died peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026 after a lengthy illness. He was 83.

Tom was born in Castroville, Texas to Mabry Franklin Atkins and Mary Caroline Seago on September 5, 1942. After attending high school in Port Aransas, Texas, Tom served in the United States Air Force at bases in Japan and Korea. Upon completing his military service, he spent the balance of his career as a dedicated employee at the Lubrizol Chemical facility in Deer Park, Texas.

In 1988, he married Donna Marie Smith of Baytown, Texas. Donna was the love of Tom’s life and he found constant joy in sharing their life together. They were married for 35 wonderful years until Donna’s death in 2023.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Diane Atkins. He is survived by his sister, Janet Atkins, of San Antonio, Texas.
