Mariglyn Frazier Glenn, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, teacher, and community leader, peacefully completed her earthly journey on July 27, 2026, surrounded by those she loved. She was 82.

For more than 80 years, Mariglyn invested in people. She shaped generations of students, strengthened her community, championed the arts, and loved her family with all her heart. Her greatest gift was seeing the good in others and helping them recognize it in themselves.

Mariglyn Frazier was born on November 7, 1943, in Coleman, Texas, to Glenn and Catherine Frazier. Her father, Thomas Glenn Frazier, was one of Texas’s most respected high school football coaches and was later inducted into the Texas High School Coaches Association Hall of Honor. From him, she learned discipline, perseverance, and the importance of believing in people. From her mother, Mary Catherine Carnes Frazier, she inherited a gift for hospitality, generosity, and a knack for making everyone feel welcome. Together, they instilled the values of faith, service, and compassion that guided her throughout her life.

Mariglyn earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Texas Tech University in 1965, where she met fellow student Stephen Glenn after he borrowed her class notes when a chemistry experiment did not go quite as planned. That chance meeting became a partnership of nearly 62 years rooted in faith, family, love, and service.

Teaching became Mariglyn’s lifelong calling. During more than three decades with the Clear Creek Independent School District, she challenged, encouraged, and inspired generations of students. Known affectionately as “The General” she was admired for her high expectations, unwavering encouragement, and genuine care for every child. In 2002, she was named Elementary Teacher of the Year, an honor that reflected what generations of students and families already knew.

Service extended far beyond the classroom. Alongside Stephen, Mariglyn devoted countless hours to the Houston Symphony, championing its mission and supporting its musicians. Her volunteer leadership earned the Houston Symphony League’s Crystal Cello Award. What began as cheering on their own children became one of the great joys of their lives. Beginning in 1988, they faithfully attended nearly every Clear Creek Wildcat football game for almost four decades, becoming familiar faces and a source of encouragement to generations of student-athletes, families, and friends throughout the Clear Creek community. Together with Stephen, she received the George B. Carlisle Distinguished Service Award in 2007, the Clear Creek Education Foundation’s highest honor for exceptional service to the district and its students.

Later in life, Mariglyn faced Alzheimer’s disease with remarkable grace, courage, and unwavering faith. She participated in Alzheimer’s research, hoping her journey might one day help others. Her strength and optimism became an enduring example for everyone who knew her.

Family was always the center of Mariglyn’s life. Thanksgiving meant homemade rolls around a table full of loved ones, while Christmas was affectionately known as “Out of Control Christmas”; complete with thoughtfully chosen gifts and matching pajamas for every grandchild. After the heartbreaking loss of their beloved son, James, Mariglyn and Stephen transformed their grief into hope by establishing the James Glenn Foundation and the James Glenn Memorial Run, creating a legacy that continues to bless students through educational scholarships.

Mariglyn was preceded in death by her beloved son, James Glenn Glenn; her sister, Ronda Jan Frazier; her brother, Thomas Joe Frazier; and her parents, Thomas Glenn Frazier and Mary Catherine Carnes Frazier.

She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 61 years, Stephen Webster Glenn; her sons, Ron Stephen Glenn and his wife, Susann Marie Glenn, and Stuart Willis Glenn; grandchildren Parker Michael Glenn and his wife, Elodia Long; Noel Marie Glenn and her husband, Ethan James Taylor; Elizabeth Jameson Glenn; Catherine Margaret Glenn; Claire Savannah Glenn; and Charlotte Grace Glenn; her cherished great-grandson, Ashton James Taylor; and many beloved brothers- and sisters- in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 1, at Bay Harbour United Methodist Church, 3459 FM Road 518 East, League City, Texas 77573; visitation begins at 1:00 p.m., services at 2:00 p.m. and reception immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to the Houston Symphony Endowment and Apollo Alzheimer’s Respite for All at St. Thomas the Apostle Episcopal Church in Nassau Bay, Texas.
