Violeta Pulumbarit

Violeta (Violy) Liwanag Pulumbarit, 70, passed away on June 3rd, 2020 in Webster, Texas. She was born on June 26th, 1949 in Manila, Philippines to Enrique (Ike) Liwanag and Bernarda (Benny) Liwanag. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Mapua University. In 1980, she left her home country of the Philippines and moved to the United States to pursue the American dream. On a visit back home to the Philippines in 1984, she met Wilfredo (Willie) whom she ended up marrying in 1987. They had their only child, Joshua (Josh), in 1989. Violy worked as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service which allowed her to have ample time for family and friends while still allowing her to provide for her family. She had a passion for crafting and cooking and loved to use her talents and abilities to help others as much as possible. Her generosity resulted in a penchant for turning complete strangers in to what would become life-long friends.

Violy is survived by: her mother. Bernarda Liwanag; her husband, Wilfredo Pulumbarit; son, Joshua Pulumbarit and his wife Erica, sister, Norma Mariano; brother, Danilo Liwanag; nieces and nephews Carie and Mike Wade, Lynette Liwanag, and Jodie and Jerome Liwanag; and numerous family members and friends all over the world.

Violy’s viewing will be held on Sunday, June 14th at 6:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home Webster/Clear Lake, 111 East Medical Center Blvd, Webster, Texas 77598. Her funeral mass will be held on Monday, June 15th at 11:00am at Mary Queen Catholic Church, 606 Cedarwood Drive, Friendswood, TX 77546. Following the mass, she will be buried at Mount Olivet Catholic Cemetery, 7801 Gulf Fwy, Dickinson, TX 77539 next to her father whom she greatly adored.

  10. Dear Willie, Josh, and Erica –We are so sorry for the loss of Violy. As our next door neighbor, we loved talking and sharing information with each other through the years! We saw Josh as a baby and grow to a fine young man. We were so proud
