Michelle “Missie” Lee Hooper
In Loving Memory of Michelle “Missie” Lee Hooper March 4, 1970 – May 2, 2025 On the morning of Friday, May 2, 2025, Michelle Lee Hooper—affectionately known as Missie—tragically passed away while on her way to work. A vibrant and loving mother, daughter, sister, aunt, niece, and friend, Missie brought light and joy to everyone she encountered. Though our hearts are broken, we find peace in knowing she was welcomed into Heaven by loved ones she dearly missed, embraced at the gates in a radiant and joyful reunion.
Born on March 4, 1970, Missie spent most of her life in Alvin, Texas. She graduated from Alvin High School and built a strong and loyal work ethic across several positions, including with VOC, Delta Airlines, and as manager of both 7-Eleven and Stripe convenience stores. Most recently, she found her calling at Big Horn, a workplace she truly cherished. Throughout her professional journey, Missie had a rare gift—she never met a stranger. Her warmth and charisma transformed customers into friends and friends into family. Many people visited her store just to hear her contagious laugh, share a story, and bask in the joy of her presence.
Missie’s proudest moment came on October 2, 1996, with the birth of her daughter, Emerald Rayne Hooper. Being Emerald’s mother was her life’s greatest accomplishment. She was Emerald’s fiercest supporter, closest confidant, and best friend—celebrating every milestone with pride, from childhood adventures to college graduation. Their bond was unbreakable and filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Known lovingly as “NikNik” to the younger ones in her family, Missie was a constant presence at family gatherings—always the life of the party and the first to show up in times of need. Her selfless nature was evident not only in her relationships, but also in the care she provided to her parents in their later years. She exemplified compassion and strength, dedicating herself fully to those she loved.
Missie was a wildflower—bravely growing bright and free in this world. Her radiant smile, kind heart, and gentle spirit left lasting impressions on everyone she met. She was resilient, offering joy even in the face of life’s challenges. Her laugh would fill a room before she arrived and linger long after she left. Truly, God chose one of His finest when He welcomed Missie home.
She is survived by her beloved daughter, Emerald Rayne Hooper; sister Kellie Hightower (K-Wayne Wooster); brother Ricky Hooper (Sheila); nephews Kevin Hartney (Lacey) and Jake Hightower (Samantha); nieces Lauren Hooper, Reagen Hale (Jackson)Linzey Walmsley (Darin), and Kegan Hooper; great-nephews Rustin Hartney, Brycen and Oliver Cash, Mason Hale; great-niece Sadie Walmsley; aunts Mollie Wright (Don) and Martha Verbeck; and many cousins, extended family members, and close friends who loved her deeply.
