John Paul Block
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of John Paul Block on September 21, 2026, at the age of 63. He was born on July 8, 1963, in Mission, Texas to Harold and Naomi Block. John was a resident of Pearland for 22 years. He lived a life marked by compassion, strength, and deep devotion to his family.
After being diagnosed with stage four liver cancer, John fought with unwavering courage and grace. John spent 35 years in the food service industry, 30 of those years with Lott Marketing/Acosta. John was known for his work ethic, kindness, and commitment to others.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Naomi Block.
John was a loving and devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 22 years, Carrie Block; his daughter, Ashlynn Milburn; his son, Austin Milburn (Maddison); his brother, Dan Block (Rosanne); and niece, Sara Coutier (Lance).
John touched the lives of everyone who had the honor of meeting him. His warmth, generosity, and jovial spirit will be remembered forever. He leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion that lives on in all of us.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made in honor of John at the National Cancer Society.
Services to honor John’s life will be held Friday, October 9, 2026, at 2:00 pm with visitation from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 2422 E. Broadway St., Pearland, TX 77581. Pastor Jerry Garner to officiate.

Brother JPB,
You were a dandy and an absolute joy to grow up with. My mind
quickly defers to frisbee; beach hangouts; Pink Floyd; cool parents;
and sharing WW2 stories passed down from our fathers. Your were
a steady mindset and even tempered companion with a heart of gold.
My move out of state never severed our bond and I was elated to
know that you’d found the perfect mate. To your family, I say god bless
you all in John’s absence but know that his spirit still walks with you.

My most sincere condolences to the family. My most memorable memories of John are from our high school years and playing basketball together. John was very calm collected and positive. That is how I remember him. Rest in peace, my Dear friend.

Carrie, Dan, and the Block family,
I am absolutely devastated over John’s passing, but at the same time, I find some peace in knowing that he no longer has to suffer.
John and I go all the way back to fifth grade at Milam. My brother and I were twins, so a lot of people knew us, and John and I became friends pretty quickly. From there, we just stayed close.
In high school, we spent a lot of time together. John and I always had each other’s backs, and that meant a lot to me. We had so many good times that still make me smile when I think about them.
We would hang out at Marcus Fortuber’s, play ultimate Frisbee, share good food, laugh, and just enjoy being young. We would also go to Dutchess to sit around, talk, and enjoy each other’s company. We spent a lot of time together at South Padre Island too, making memories that I still carry with me today.
Nothing had to be fancy. It was just good friends spending time together, laughing, talking, eating, and enjoying life. Those are the memories that become more precious with every passing year.
When I think of John, I think of a true friend, a good man, and someone I was blessed to have in my life for so many years.
I am grateful for every memory, every laugh, every conversation, and every moment we shared. I will miss him more than words can say.
Carrie and family, my heart is with all of you. I know how deeply John was loved, and I hope there is some comfort in knowing that his pain and suffering are finally over and that he is at peace.

I was so sorry to of the passing of John. John was a great businessman throughout his career that we worked together in the food industry and futhermore a good friend to me. He will certainly be missed by all of us.
