David “Nuno” Nathaniel Cabrera, 48, a resident of Dickinson, Texas passed away on September 26, 2026. He was born on April 30, 1978 in Galveston, Texas to parents, Arturo Cantu and Rebecca Medina.

David was devoted to the love of his life, his wife, Marina Montes.  His children and grandchildren meant the world to him, and he loved them with all of his heart.  He was also a devoted Houston sports fan who loved cheering on the Astros and Texans.  Whether he was sharing stories from his travels or memories from his childhood, there was always a story to tell and a laugh to follow.  His love for his family, sense of humor, and gift of storytelling will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved him.

David was preceded in death by his father.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife, Marina Montes; his mother, Rebecca Medina; his son, Marcus Cabrera (Brittany); his daughter, Brissa Cabrera; his stepdaughter, Kristianna Reyes (Dillon); his stepsons, Cristian Reyes (Alondra) and Gabriel Castillo (Astrid); his sister, Sophia Salinas Gonzalez; his brothers, Joseph Cabrera and John Cabrera (Erika); his stepsister, Amanda Cantu-Hill (Seth); his stepbrother, Arturo Cantu, Jr.; his brother-in-law, Mario Montez (“Dad”); his sister-in-law, Victoria Montez (“Mom”); his brother-in-law, Matthew Montes (Liz); and his nephew, John Cabrera, Jr.

David was also blessed with numerous grandchildren: Ava Cabrera, Aiden Cabrera, Bella Cabrera, Isaiah Macedo, Matthew Macedo, Cristian Reyes Jr, Elijah Reyes, Kylianna Merchant, and Adriel Castillo.

Special recognition is also given to Marcus Cabrera, Joseph Cabrera, John Cabrera Sr., John Cabrera Jr., Gabriel Castillo, Chris Rodriguez, Mario Montez, Matthew Montes, Jared Mickens, Cristian Reyes, Carlos Cantu and Brandon Small for their love, support, and presence in David’s life.

In his honor, there will be a visitation on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 7:00pm.
