Norman Keith McDaniel

Norman Keith McDaniel, of League City, passed away on Tuesday, September 29, 2026 at his home in League City, Texas at the age of 93. He was born on September 21, 1933 in Hamburg, Iowa, to Francis “Mack” and Thelma McDaniel.

He was an avid sports fan, particularly tennis. He was a lifelong tennis player and made sure that his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren had the opportunity to be trained to play. He and his wife, Dixie, enjoyed their yearly trips to New York to attend the US Open.
He was a lover of the arts and antiquities, especially antique clocks.

He was a leader in his profession in the field of the petrochemical industry and published numerous articles in his professional monthly magazine.

Above all that, he was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He attended every activity and made sure that all the people in his life knew that he loved them. When people described him, they often said that he was the kindest person they knew.
Preceded in death by his mother and father, his older brother, Boyd and his sister, Patsy Ann.

He is survived by his loving wife of 69 years, Dixie, his daughters, Melanie McDaniel Shoemaker and Tiffany Riley Mireles and her husband Matt Mireles, grandchildren Dalton Riley and his wife Taylor, Tyler Shoemaker and his fiance, Elena McInroe, Taryn Riley and Andrew Mireles, great grandchildren Lilana, Laura and Roland Riley, as well as many loving family and friends.

Service will be held on Saturday, October 10 at 2 PM at The Crossings, located at 255 N. Egret Bay Blvd, League City, Texas, 77573.
