I sure will miss him. We had some good times.
One of the kindest of men I had the pleasure of knowing.
Best Math Instructor I ever had. Absolutely a great man.
I enjoyed working with Jim. He was a caring man. Will miss his email jokes.
Even though we didn’t get to see Jim and Lois often, when we visited Texas it was great fun to visit, talk and laugh. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life. He was a true Christian-we will miss him. Jackie and Jan
In my mid 20s, upon returning to school post service, Mr Carpenter and my paths crossed at COM. He left an indelible mark on my life as the best teacher I have ever had. He made math seem easy, impossible! With great respect and admiration, rest in peace, Sir.

You know how much I treasured Jim. His death leaves a hole in my heart.
Jim was a smart, thoughtful, kind and positive Christian man. I really enjoyed working with Jim and his team at American Indemnity back in the early 2000s until his retirement. I also enjoyed Lois and Jim’s visits to Cedar Rapids, Iowa on the way to visit family in Ohio. I considered Jim a dear friend. He will be missed.
