  1. Alma (dat_mexican_gurl) you were such a great friend. Quiet in nature but carried big bunches of love and caring. I am so glad of the many years not just at Willowridge but also in the spot on the 2nd level where along with a few honeybee ladies many lasting and fun memories were made. The last 2 class reunions were possible because of your never give up attitude. You will be missed but forever loved. Remember both honeybees and eagles fly higher so we will all keep looking up until we meet again. Rest until then…to the family I will keep you all in my heart and prayers forever

  3. It was truly a pleasure to be blessed with your friendship. You kept me sane when dealing with our reunion activities and always was the peacemaker and level headed one. I’m going to miss you but I will never forget you! I’m truly honored to know you and keep a look out for us Eagles here on earth. To the Alva family, my heart hurts for you and know God makes no mistakes. He has called his Angel home but don’t fret she is watching over you all! I’m praying for your strength during this time of need.

  6. Dearest Alma-Look, I know we just spoke and all but you being you, you kept up your show of strength and grace, your incredible laugh which was like music to your friends and of course your melodic voice whether speaking or singing. The world lost when you left. My heart is heavy for ever missed opportunity and those never to come…I won’t call and hear your sassy self but I will ever carry you in my heart and mind. May I show kindness to all as did you, may I mimic your ability to never meet a stranger and find the good no matter how minuscule in anyone. May I be blessed with another opportunity to encourage when I am in need of encouragement as you so often did and when I cry with others may it cleanse and remind that it really is gonna be alright. Great fight, now rest sweet friend, rest.

  7. Alma!! You were so funny and loved music as much as I do! We would be laughing and talking in the Willowridge High School Choir while Ms. Longoria would be talking! Lol! Then years later on Facebook share our favorite YouTube sensations and talk about non-singing folks!!! You were one of my biggest fans and encouraged me to keep singing all these years! Rest is heavenly peace my Sister! You are now singing in the Heavenly Choir! Save me a seat! I love you dearly! Peace and Abundant Love!

  9. No words however kindly meant, can sooth your pain away. We hope the love around you, memories, and heartfelt prayers of those who mourn with you, help you through today. May you, in time, also find some comfort in knowing that God has promised to “swallow up death forever” (Isaiah 25:8), and to use his Son to resurrect our dear loved ones who have passed away (John 5:28). May those promises somehow strengthen you.

  10. Alma,
We’ve know each other since elementary school. A good 30+ years is a long time. As friends, we have always known that we could depend on each other. I appreciate your trustworthiness, honesty, dependability-all qualities of a good friend. We could discuss any topic-I always feel that I can talk to you no matter what the subject may be. Our love of movies, books, music, etc. are just a few things we had in common. Thanks again for introducing me to Fanfiction! I also appreciate your efforts to keep ties to high school friends and including me in some of those efforts. You were 200% better at this than me.
I was once told that if you have one true friend in life you are blessed. Truly, I feel blessed to have you in my life. Without you, I believe I would have become more of a recluse than I already am. Thanks for always being there for me-a true friend, sounding board, listener and therapist : ) You’ll truly be missed.
To the Alva Family-my family and I would like to express our condolences and deepest sympathy for your loss. We said many prayers and hoped for a different outcome. No words can help soothe the pain of your loss but I believe your faith, family and friends will pull you through. I’ve listened to a song lately (multiple times), that I told Alma about a while ago, that has helped me a little and I believe:
“She flew up to Heaven on the wings of angels
By the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees
And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waiting
And I know she’s smiling saying
    Don’t worry ’bout me”

    Love you…#5 Cindy J.
