Wilton “Trey” Roper, III passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 at his home in Seabrook, Texas at the age of 73. He was born on June 19, 1953 in Houston, Texas to Wilton Roper, Jr. and Yvonne Roper. He is survived by his wife, Susan Nester.

Trey was a skilled southwest artisan who was known for his work with exotic hardwoods with inlays of horn, ivory, and other media. He was very creative and crafted numerous artifacts. One of Trey’s passions was music. He was always listening to music and playing his guitar. Trey enjoyed landscaping and planting around his home, especially palms and tropical plants. In his earlier days, he loved to fish and hunt.

On Thursday, September 24, 2026 Trey’s family will greet guests for a Viewing from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm followed by a Memorial Service at 6:00 pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, TX 77598. Trey’s family kindly encourages guests to come as you are and dress casually.
