  3. My husband and I are sorry for the pain you are feeling. In the Bible, John 11:17, 33-35—Jesus gave way to tears, even though he knew that he was about to resurrect Lazarus. Jesus’ tears confirmed his love for Lazarus’ family-Mary and Martha.

Though at this time, I can’t help but feel that if Jesus was currently on earth, he would have the ame tears for your loved one as he did for Lazarus.

  6. Bill will always be my ‘big brother’ and he was the best possible. Although we were ‘first cousins’, we were much closer than that since my birth over 73 years ago. He was always my confidant, and, well, my ‘big brother’, and again, the best. I’ve always admired him and respected him and loved him, and there will always be a knife in my heart with him gone. His Mother and Daddy, Ruby and Hammett Murphy, were my God parents. We lived in the same neighborhood in Baton Rouge, LA, went to Fairfields Elementary, Baton Rouge Jr. and Sr. Highs, and of course, LSU !!! I’ve considered his wife Beverly my sister, and his girls my ‘surrogate’ kids. He shall be greatly missed by all who knew him, and I was blessed indeed to have him in my life.

  8. Beverly and family,
We are so sorry to here about Bill. He was a smart, kind , gentle person that we admired. We did not really know him well because of age difference but he was role model for me. It is unfortunate that we live so far away from each other.

I am so thankful we got to visit with you all at Maggie’s home a couple years ago and hope to see all of you once all this sickness has subsided and the world gets back to normal. Hugh and Beverly Murphy
