Vivian Lisbet-Yvonne Shemberger

Vivian Lisbet-Yvonne Shemberger, of Dickinson, Texas passed away suddenly on Thanksgiving morning, November 26, 2020, at the age of 77.  Born October 24, 1943, in Sweden, to Johan Engelbert and Emmy Margareta Selberg (née Johansson).

Vivian was born a Swedish resident and received her U.S. citizenship at the age of 23.  She had a natural sense of fashion which drove her achievements as an international model in her early twenties to being a manager at Chicos upon her passing. Her intellect and influence grew her success as a software salesperson where she achieved numerous awards and retired as Director of Global Account Management after 24 years with Sungard Data Systems, Inc.

Her elegance and panache attracted many friends all over the United States: from Texas, Alabama, Minnesota, Florida, and, only to return to Texas where she spent the remaining 16 years of her life enjoying her daughters, spoiling her grandchildren and grand fur-babies.

Preceded in death by her parents, Johan Engelbert Selberg (Father), Emmy Margareta Selberg (Mother), and Leo Torbjörn Selberg (Brother).

Survived by her brother, Jan Urban Selberg; wife, Anita Anne-Marie, daughters Deborah Louise Musgrove; spouse Robert Philip; and Christina Marie Belmonte; spouse Peter Thomas; grandchildren, Lindsay Ellen, Lauren Christine, Chloe Marie, and Caleb James.

The Family will receive friends on Sunday, December 13, 2020 at 1:00PM with a Celebration of Life Ceremony at 2 o’clock at Crowder Funeral Home, 1645 East Main, League City, Texas 77573.

  2. Vivian was my manager for about 7 1/2 years. She left our store in Pearland briefly and returned last year in time to celebrate Christmas. She loved the little social gatherings we would have on Sundays after work to celebrate a birthday, anniversary, or a holiday. She loved food, and popcorn was her favorite. She was a wonderful manager and friend. I often told people that we were the two oldest employees in our store. I was proud of that because we were both blessed to still be able to work. I will miss Vivian and our conversations about our aches and pains. i send condolences to the family. Vivian is gone but I will never forget her. RIP my friend.

  3. Vivian was so sweet and likeable. She was my go to fashion lady at Chico’s for several years. She had the flare for picking out clothes that were perfect for me. I always left the store thrilled with my purchases. My deepest sympathy to the family. I pray that each of you feel God’s comfort and peace.

  4. I was extremely fortunate to meet Liz when I returned to Minneapolis from Nashville in 1997. We became instant friends. A favorite memory is flying to Texas with Kathy Taylor in 2006 to celebrate my 60th birthday. Liz made sure I was able to meet Joel Osteen at his church in Houston which was such a thrill. Her soul was as beautiful on the inside as her beautiful looks were on the outside! I will forever remember that great laugh..her sense of humor..her caring heart..and her zest for life! It was always a party when Liz was in your life! RIP my dear friend-your Minneapolis friends will carry on your legacy and never ever forget you.❤️

  6. I have been shopping at Chico’s Pearland Town Center for many years and Vivian was always so wonderful – I vividly recall a time my Mom was in town visiting me and we were shopping and Vivian was just so kind to my Mom in helping her find gifts at reasonable prices. I am deeply sorry and my prayers go out to her family during this incredibly difficult time. She and her beautiful smile will be missed.

  7. I will miss my dear friend Liz. We met in school in Nora, Sweden when we were 14 I think. Graduated 1960. Our paths went in different direction and in 1998 we met again, purely by chance in Halifax Plantation, Ormond Beach FL. We have stayed friends ever since.
So sorry about her passing and deep condolences to her family.

  8. Missing you already. I still wait for your phone call on your hour-long ride home from work as you go through my entire family and ask how they are (even the doggies). Even Sunday-funday won’t be the same. :’-( Until we see each other again, Mommy.

    I love you.

  9. I’ll miss you grandma Liz, you’ve been part of my life for as long as I can remember and it still feels unreal – like I’ll get one of your bad timing phone calls from you or see your car in the driveway to walk in and see you with a glass of wine and bag of popcorn in your lap. I love your fabulous sense of fashion and how you lived life to the fullest with such compassion and the way you carried yourself. You’re one of a kind, inside and out and you’ll forever be in my heart.

  10. Missing Vivian already….we have worked side by side since she joined the Chicos family. We talked often laughed and just had great conversation. She was always such a fun lady to be around and I looked forward to seeing her at work events and most recently seeing her on weekly Zoom meetings. She was beautiful inside and out and she will dearly be missed by all that love her. R.I.P sweet, beautiful friend!

  12. I will miss Vivian so much! Our dinners together and conversations we had!
She was a true friend and we had numerous hours together!
That last evening before Thanksgiving we had dinner
and we left the restaurant around 7:30 ! Vivian did not
come to my house after dinner as she said she had to
get home and start preparing Swedish meatballs for
Thanksgiving at her daughter’s! I will forever be grateful
    for our friendship!!!
