Rebecca Jane Keels

Rebecca Jane Keels, of Van Buren, Arkansas, passed away August 22, 2020, in her daughter’s home in Fulshear, Texas. Rebecca was born April 24, 1945 in Greenwood, Arkansas, to Ed and Bessie Fields.

She is survived by two sisters: Juanita Williams and Wanda Moore and two brothers: Gene (Glenda) Fields and Cleve (Delema) Fields.  She also leaves behind one daughter: Davon Keels Ruiz; two sons: David Keels and Andrew McRae; seven grandchildren: Josh Ruiz, Zach Ruiz, Dylan Ruiz, Milan Ruiz,  Cody Spires, Tyler Keels, and Caleb Keels and one great grandchild: Allison Ruiz and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was an amazing Mother to three difficult children, one of which once told her to hold her, but don’t touch her.  She never missed a beat and understood exactly what to do.  She told it like it was and you never had to guess where you stood with her.  She nurtured and protected her children until she couldn’t.  For that Mom we will  forever be grateful.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am Thursday, August 27, 2020 at Mountain View Cemetery, in Hackett, Arkansas, under the direction of James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque.

  1. Miss Becky, you definitely earned your wings. You will be missed by many and loved by all. Davon, I’m sending you prayers for peace and strength, your Mom helped me through some battles. She was a very wise woman and I’ll always love and miss her. Until we meet again…
