John Michael McGowan, 82, a resident of Santa Fe, Texas passed away on September 5, 2026. He was born on August 19, 1944 in Galveston, Texas to parents, Patrick Phillip McGowan, Sr. and Rose Camille Dolfi McGowan.

John served his country in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

Before retiring, he worked as the director of information services for the University of Texas Medical Branch.

John is preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Gerald McGowan and Patrick McGowan, Jr. He leaves behind to treasure his memory, his loving wife, Cynthia McGowan; sons, Britt McGowan and Blake McGowan and nephews, Bryan McGowan and wife, Whitney, Michael McGowan and Jacob McGowan.

In his honor, there will be a visitation on October 10, 2026 at Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque, Texas. A funeral service will follow at 2:00pm.
