Micheal Louis Halladay

On Tuesday, October 27, 2020, Micheal Louis Halladay, beloved husband and father, died at home in Bacliff, TX, with his family at his bedside. A memorial service will be held November 14, 2020 at 2:00pm at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd, Webster, TX 77598.

Micheal was born on September 17, 1949 and raised by Charlotte (Shondel) and Merle Halladay.  After high school he worked for his father at Firestone and then enlisted in the United States Army in 1968. During his military career he honorably served tours in Turkey, Germany and South Korea, as well as in the United Arab Emirates as a liaison to their Air Forces during the Gulf War. While serving in Seoul, South Korea, he met Margaret (Potter) Halladay. They married on November 25th 1981 in Sheffield, Ohio and soon set roots in El Paso, TX, moving occasionally to pursue career opportunities once their children had grown. Micheal worked as a draftsman/designer after his time with the Army, until his civilian retirement. One of his favorite jobs was with Wyle Labs designing projects for the International Space Station.

Micheal loved cheering on the Dallas Cowboys and Boston Celtics, gardening, reading, and a good bottle of beer or glass of wine. After retiring, he and Margaret took sailing lessons and enjoyed their time together near Galveston Bay.

Micheal is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Roger and Mark. He is survived by his wife, Margaret; daughters Heather (Doug) Preston, Holly Halladay (fiancé Brian), and Amanda Halladay of Arizona; son Sean (Mary) Halladay of South Dakota; grandchildren Ryan, Phoebe, Mia, Ethan, Tori, and William; great-granddaughter Rosalyn; brother Merle Halladay; sisters Dianna Buecker, Ellen Martin, Karen Luna, and Linda Quick.
