  6. Lorn Westfall was like a fixture at Lakewood Church…planted solidly, loyal, dependable and always exemplifying the love of Christ. I will surely miss his beautiful smile and hearing him call me ‘Kiddo’. He has been a delight in so many people’s lives. This world will miss him, but we know Heaven is rejoicing! Well done, Lorn! Welcome home!

  9. Lorn was one of the first people we met when we started at Lakewood Church in 2000. He was a seed planter and love conveyor in our lives from the Father’s throne. He helped us start our first ministry. And we know he did that for others. He blessed so many people with his tax services, offered in love. His wisdom and joy were a consistent gift to all who encountered him. We grieve his loss but take comfort in First Thessalonians 4: 13-18.

  10. I have had the privilege of knowing the Westfall family for over 30 years and I love this guy, his wife, and his two sons. All of the boys’ friends knew they were always welcome at the Westfall home and we were always met with a welcoming, friendly, never ending smile by “Mr. Westfall. Thank you, sir, for being the smile of Jesus in our lives. That testimony alone spoke volumes. I now imagine that you are smiling broadly at your Savior as He returns that smile. Praise the Lord for your life and your victory in Jesus. We look towards the day when we will all smile together in our Lord’s presence.

  13. I had the privilege of knowing and working with Lorn, when he was the Controller for the Company we both worked for at Rhodia. Not only was Lorn a kind and gentle man but he was a man of high integrity and always showed compassion for others. His smile would light up a room and he had a welcoming presence towards everyone. He will be truly missed but is walking with our Lord and Saviour. May God comfort, his wife, Joyce and their entire family during this time and you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

  14. I have very fond memories of Uncle Lorn. He was a kid at heart and lots of fun. He took me for a thrilling flight in his biplane and for many years at the farm loved shooting 4th of July fireworks as much as we did; almost blewing us up on several occassions !
My love and many hugs for Aunt Joyce, Wes, and Larry and the family. I’m sorry that I can’t personally pay my respects this weekend due to other obligations, but please know that my heart and mind will be with you.

  15. Lorn always made me smile. He had such a great sense of humor. I would make an appointment with Lorn so that I could visit and laugh with him, and gleen from his father-like wisdom. As a bonus, I got my taxes done at the same time! I will sincerely miss him. My thoughts and prayers are with the whole family.

  16. Words could never express how much I will miss Lorn. I always looked forward to seeing him. He was so encouraging and such a joy to be around. He blessed me in so many ways, not to mention his extended blessings toward my family members. We will miss this GIANT in the faith, but thank God we will see him again. My prayers and love go out to the entire Westfall family. Thank you for sharing Lorn with us all these years.

  17. The measure of a man is certainly found by the words people express after he is gone. The greater measure is found, I believe, when those same words are said about the man in life. Lorn Westfall, his life represented his heart for God, for his family and his friends. There is a ministry statement of a denomination that says, “Heart to God, Hand to Man” — this is Lorn. I will miss his cheery smile, that twinkle in his eye when he was headed down a humorous path with you, and the keen insight he had into life. A wonderful man who I think we all would have wanted to have as our father, but we were definitely blessed to have him as our friend. My prayers and loving thoughts are with Joyce and the entire family. Lorn may not be in our physical presence anymore, but he most certainly will remain in our hearts. He has taken his final flight and boy, it was the best one EVER!

  19. What a wonderful man. He will be missed by many. The many who experienced his warm smile and firm handshake. The many that relied on him to safely navigate the unfriendly waters of the IRS and the many (myself included) who realized that a dumb joke told repeatedly actually becomes very funny. Thank you Lorn for years of material of which I will always give you the credit. I guess that leaves your son Larry and myself to continue the “distribution” of goofy material. I know Larry is up to it and I’ll do my best to keep up.

    I miss you Buddy.

  20. Lorn was a good friend, and I am so thankful to have spent as much time with him as I did. He is an amazing man, father, husband, servant and example for others to follow. He made everyone feel good about themselves and was an encourager. He left such a legacy. I am thankful for his son Larry. His life lives on in our hearts.

  21. A great man in the Kingdom of God, Lord Westfall was a man of integrity, a man of compassion, a man of knowledge and skill who helped thousands of people in his lifetime on this earth. He lived to smile and greeted people warmly with a pastor’s heart. He was a godly man who lived his wife and family deeply. He loved and prayed for our country. Most of all He loved the Father, the Son–the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit. We will miss him greatly! I am praying for Joyce and all the family during this time. Thank God for Heaven and the fact we will see him again soon! Love in Jesus, Renee

  28. Got dragged to Lorn’s house when I was a kid. The ride out, and the ride home, Dad mentioned how truly unique and admirable Lorn and his family were. Dad seldom spoke in such terms, when he did, it mattered. Safe bet Lorn made a splash in Heaven too.

  29. I was very saddened to hear about the passing of Lorn. I was contacting him to get some information and someone else had his Cell #. As I researched him, that is when I was provided with the news that he had received his angel wings he always talked about. I am sad that we have lost him as a friend but heaven received an excellent worker for all of the tasks that must need his qualified expertise in heaven. I can just see him saying “this is how you do it, kid”. (Smile)

We spent a year working on getting the paperwork prepared for a Ministry and he was great to work with…I have recommended him for his detailed work every since I met him a few years ago. He will truly be missed and no one has the knack to get all of this done as Lorn did. My prayers go out to his family and friends, as I am sure he is being missed every day!

  30. Just found out God called home my mentor and good friend, Lorn. I made sure I told him many times how much he taught me and that I still draw upon his wisdom. Just wish I could do it one more time. My heart goes out to his family he loved so deeply. Thanks again Lorn.
