Linda Fay McClellen Criss
Linda Fay McClellen Criss, 81, of Texas City, passed away on Wednesday, September 30, 2026, in League City. Born on February 21, 1945, in Texas City, she was the daughter of Walter and Geneva McClellen. Formerly of La Marque, Linda spent most of her adult life living and working in Texas City. She served as a clerk at Union Carbide Chemical Plant for more than 30 years before retiring. Above all, Linda was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, whose love for her family was the heart of her life.
Linda loved reading and cherished the power of words. She was also a talented poet throughout her life. She used her gift of writing poems to lift others up during difficult seasons, offering comfort or encouragement. Her poetry was one of the best ways through which she expressed herself, offering her heart to others through the words she wrote.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents, her son in-law, Alan Collins, and one great-grandson, Jack. She is survived by her daughter, Katie Collins; her son, Brian Criss (Shanna); brother, James McClellen; six grandchildren: McKinsey Criss (Nolan Griggs), Jacob Criss, Ashley Bonner (Donavan), Jessica Horst (Johnathon), Brooke Blanchard (Ben) and Mark Collins (Kristen). She is also survived by six great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, October 13, 2026 from 9:00am-10:00am at James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. A funeral service will begin at 10:00am on with a pastor from The Fellowship of Texas City officiating. Interment will follow at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery, Hitchcock.
Pallbearers will be Brian Criss, Jacob Criss, Rusty McClellen, Brandon McClellen, Mark Collins, and Johnathon Bliss. Honorary pallbearers will be Donavan Howard and Ben Blanchard.
