Linda Kay Wilkes-Brown

Linda Kay Wilkes-Brown, 74, passed away on February 1, 2024, in Houston, Texas only hours before her 75th birthday. She was born on February 2, 1949, in Lolita, Texas to Charlie and Dorothy Wilkes.

She is survived by: her husband, James Brown; her daughter, Carrie Manley; her sisters, Daisy Hicks, Mary Breshears, and Francis Averett; her brother, Dan Wilkes; and her grandchildren, Meghan Armstrong, Alexandria Barnwell, Kaylin Barnwell, and Daniel Coleman. She is also survived by numerous other family members and friends.

For many years Linda worked as an accounting supervisor. She also had worked as a medical insurance supervisor for the University of Texas and as medical insurance coding specialist for Prudential Insurance.

Linda and James were married for over 44 years. Linda spent her life managing her home, and taking care of her family. Unfortunately, the last several years of her life were also spent fighting illnesses that eventually took her life.  She always always put her family first. She will be deeply missed by all that knew her.

A funeral service will be held for Linda on Monday, February 5th at 7pm at Crowder Funeral Home in Webster, Texas
