  11. Jerry “Bad Ladd”, as we called him at the FBI, became a fishing buddy, close friend, and, after many years, a brother. I loved the man who I will always remember for that ornery smile and honest talk. When we were heading out on his boat, Jerry would call the office and say he would be on Sick Leave all day. Sick Leave was the name of his boat lol. Jerry always said he was the luckiest man alive for his wife Barbara and his girls. I admired him for that family love. Even though we did not live close anymore, we always talked every year on our birthdays. “Happy birthday old fart” is how it always started. I will miss my brother dearly and I am heartbroken for you and the family Barbara.

  22. When I arrived at the FBI office in Texas City, Jerry was one of the first people I met. He always had a big smile and was willing to go the extra mile. It was obvious that he was a family man and loved Barbara and the girls. He could provide expert advice on a myriad of topics, to include golf, fishing and, my favorite……which slot machines to play! He had a heart of gold, was a good friend, and an integral part of the FBI family. He will be missed. Thoughts and prayers with you, Barbara, and family.

Ken and I are so very sorry for your family’s loss. Jerry was a wonderful man and we too will miss him. He took Ken under his wing in 2004 when he started working with him in Texas City and I remember the funny things Jerry would tell Ken during the work day. We so enjoyed the office Christmas parties at your house and are so glad we were able to meet you and Jerry for dinner to discuss your trip to Panamá. Please know that you, Cheryl and Rick, Melissa and Peter, and all of the grandchildren are in our prayers. May Jerry’s memory be eternal.

  30. Jerry – we were such lucky kids. We grew up during an amazing time!! Frances Kay and I were so lucky to have you (and Mike and Jesse) to grow up with. We have lots of cousins but we lived so close that it was really convenient to have three (cousin / brothers) nearby. I learned so much … How not to cry after having a wild pitch bounce off the top of my head; It’s OK for girls to play cowboys, too; I learned how to be a gracious Monopoly ‘loser’. I’m so grateful that you were in our lives and I will miss you so much. Barbara (Sis) and family … I’m here for you and love you all very much
