Giorgio Floridia

Giorgio Floridia, 54, a resident of League City, Texas passed away in Houston, Texas on January 13, 2021. He was born and raised in Messina, Sicily.  He came to America to get his education, and received his Bachelor Degree at the University of Houston and his Master’s degree at University of St. Thomas.  Giorgio moved back to Sicily, where he married Antonella in Siracusa, Sicily on June 19, 2002 and began raising a family.  His desire was to move back to America, which he did with his family in 2010.

After moving to the Houston area, Giorgio worked alongside his family at Pomodoro’s Cucina Italiana restaurant. Giorgio was not only the manager of the restaurant- he was the lively heartbeat that kept the restaurant thriving.

Giorgio was loved by all he met; he had a brighter than life personality and a never-ending positive attitude. Giorgio enjoyed every aspect of life and lived every day to the fullest. Giorgio befriended all he encountered and created life-long friendships that reach from Italy to Louisiana, to Texas. Giorgio’s charismatic charm and lively spirit will never be forgotten and will live on through his family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his father, Giuseppe Floridia.

Giorgio leaves behind his wife, Antonella Minardi; son, Giuseppe Floridia, daughter, Francesca Floridia; mother, Melina Floridia; sister, Emanuela Floridia; brothers: Lillo Floridia and Cristian Floridia.

There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, January 23, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary of the Expectation Catholic Church, 1612 E Walker St, League City, TX 77573.

  1. Our most heartfelt condolences to Antonella, Giuseppe, Francesca, Mrs. Floridia and all of Giorgio’s family. You will all remain in our prayers. Although he has transitioned from this earthly life and earthly body, he will never be forgotten by those lives whom he touched with his bigger than life smile and his Sicilian accent! He was a Genuine, joyful, kind, family man… a gentleman. Rest In Peace Giorgio. Well done🙏🙏🙏
