Dorothy J. Thompson went to be with the Lord on September 15, 2026. She was 94 years of age. She was born on November 7, 1931, in San Antonio, Texas.

Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Michael R. Thompson of Houston and Ray P. Thompson of Webster; her 9 grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; loving nieces and nephews; and her best friend and companion, Maya. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Alfred P. Jenke and Jeannette Jenke; her beloved husband Ray D. Thompson, in 2014 after 68 years of marriage; her only daughter Dotty M. Johnson; daughter-in-law Linda Thompson; As well as her sister Delores and brother Richard.

Mom and Dad worked for many years before enjoying retirement. She retired from First Pasadena State Bank. She began as a Bank Teller, and after many commendations from customers and her bosses, she was promoted to Bank Supervisor. Her husband retired from the Pasadena Police Department as a Detective Sergeant and the Departments only Polygraph Examiner. They met in 5th Grade at St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Downtown Houston, the same church they would be married at when they both turned 18 on June 1st, 1950. There was no one else; they were each other’s love.

What a life Dorothy had! She was a kind individual and found good in all people and a blessing in every situation. Her circle of friends spanned generations. With her sharp mind all the way up to the end, she was a trusted advisor to many. Her wisdom and ability to give experienced advice, guidance, and an honest opinion will be a loss. She experienced many victories and sorrows in her life. Dorothy’s devout faith and putting the Lord first came before anything in her life. God absolutely heard her constant prayers for her family and children. Also, it wouldn’t be fair to not rejoice at the same time for the fact we had her for so long. She never skipped a beat, mentally, and for that we are grateful to God. Mother is now rejoicing with other family and friends in the presence of Jesus.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, 111 E. Medical Center Blvd., Webster, Texas 77598.
