Tyler Jordan McNaughton, 28, of Alvin, TX, passed away on September 2, 2026, surrounded by family and friends. He was born on December 19, 1997, to Kelli Lynn Smith, and Warren Carl McNaughton at St. Johns Hospital in Nassau Bay, TX. Tyler was a graduate of the Livingstones Christian School class of 2016. He enjoyed spending his time gaming, he was an avid movie buff, and had a great passion for writing.

He is survived by his mother, Kelli Boettcher, stepped up (bonus) dad, Emery, and his father Warren McNaughton. His grandparents, Robert and Maggie Laird. His sisters, Alexis Boettcher, Heather Yoder, Meagan Sweeney, and Chloe Russo. His brothers, Dustin Boettcher and Norman Boettcher. His uncles, Jason Allen and Joshua Smith. His aunts, Kerri Wood, Shawna Laird-Brush, and Gwen Laird Halverson. His godparents, Kerry Hissong and Russell Pumphrey. Along with numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his love and memory.

He stayed strong in his faith, thoughts, and beliefs. His spirit continued to shine, even when things weren’t going his way. He never met a stranger. He loved making people, laugh and smile with a silly joke or just a simple hug. He touched lives everywhere he went; we prayed for him during his six years of illness was stage four kidney disease that he developed from typhus in 2020. On June 29, 2026, when he was admitted into ICU. Due to complications, Tyler was transferred to Galveston UTMB for more specialized care. With the many ups and downs during his stay there, Tyler never wavered from his fighting spirit, to “press on” through his difficulties. Also, many of the medical staff, from doctors to nurses, and Hospice staff, were touched by Tyler.

And so it is, Tyler inspired people’s lives everywhere he went. He loved spending time with his family, a movie enthusiast, a gamer, and had a passion for writing short stories. He loved spending time with family and friends. For those of us that knew Tyler, he will be deeply and forever missed. We will “carry the torch” of his life and honor him with a kind deed, a loving generous act, a smile, and never giving up. Words cannot express how much he is loved and the impact he has made in our lives, he will be missed dearly. May we all shine as brightly as Tyler, the light of God that came so easily for him.
