Beatrice “Aunt Bea” Mary Maples

Grandma B Large cropped- blue backgroundBeatrice “Aunt Bea” Mary Maples, 95, passed away Saturday, February 27, 2016, in Texas City. Beatrice was born October 28, 1920, in Houston Texas, to Thomas and Frances Hooper. She had a great love for her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Beatrice enjoyed many visits to Disneyland and Walt Disney World with the “grandbabies”.  She also enjoyed making many wedding cakes for weddings in the Galveston area. Beatrice is preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Harry D. Maples; a daughter, Loretta B. Carmichael; a son Edward M. Maples: a grandson, Lance E. Maples; two sisters: Dorothy Perthius and Francis Winn; two brothers: Tommie Hooper and Earl Hooper. Beatrice is survived by one daughter–in-law: Cathy Maples; one son-in-law Freddie J. Carmichael; one sister-in-law: Wilodyne Hooper; three grandchildren: Freddie L. Carmichael (Bonnie), Joan L. Jones (Brian Gunzelman), Eddie L. Carmichael, one Granddaughter–in-law Isabel Maples; eight Great Grandchildren: Kathryn Carmichael, Mathew Carmichael, Kacey Carmichael, Kandace Carmichael, Kristy Carmichael, Lania Alfaro (John), Rain Dipuccio (Richard), Savannah Maples (Lance Rainville); four Great Great Grandchildren: Adrian, Greyson, River, and Sophia; many nieces and nephews and special friend Elisa Dello loio. A visitation will be held from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, Monday, February 29, 2016, at James Crowder Funeral Home, La Marque. Burial of ashes will be held at a later date, at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Houston, Texas. In Lieu of flowers donation may be made to Galveston Island Meal on Wheels (GIMOW), 2803 53rd Street, Galveston, Texas 77551.
