Ava Good

Ava Jeanne Good , 76, passed away on December 5, 2020 in Houston, Texas.  She was born on May 30, 1944 in Abilene, Texas to James G. and Imogene Robbins. Aa is survived by her husband, Paul Good; son Austin Holloway-Jones; brother Paul Robbins; grandchildren Tyler Johnson, Faith Mitchell, Cameron Mitchell, Brianna Burton, Susan Burton, Riley Holloway-Jones, Dalton Holloway-Jones and Parker Holloway Jones; and three great grandchildren. She earned a BA from Texas Tech University and a masters degree from the University of Colorado. She was an educator teaching in High Schools and for the past 33 years as a Speech professor at San Jacinto College.  While at San Jac she mentored numerous students as the faculty sponsor of the school’s chapter of Phi Theta Kappa. She formed a group of associates who met weekly for the last 30 years for fellowship and camaraderie and they called themselves the “Lunch Bunch”.  She was an active member of Clear Lake Presbyterian Church and served as an Elder and on numerous committees through her thirty-seven years of membership.  She also was a member of the Zeta Tau chapter of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International. She was a loyal and spirited volunteer helping with fund raisers for St. Jude Hospital as well as many other events helping those less fortunate.  A memorial will be held Friday, December 11 at 2:30 P.M. at Clear Lake Presbyterian Church.  Attendees are limited and will be by invitation.  The service will be on Zoom and can be accessed by contacting the church.  In lieu of flowers those wishing to make a memorial donation in Ava’s memory may do so  to the Clear Lake Presbyterian Church or to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

  1. I knew Ava casually because Paul Good is my Accountant. The few times we visited, she was such a sweet kind lady, we usually talked about our puppies.
    It was such a shock and I know she will be dearly missed. But the Lord will be fortunate to have her with him. My prays go out to Paul and his family for their loss.
