Ruth Elgin Dagerath

Ruth ElginDagarath-Ruth 2015 Dagerath, 73, passed away Friday, May 1, 2015 at her residence in Texas City, TX.  She was born on February 17, 1942 to Samuel and Geraldine Varnado in Amite, LA.  Those who knew her know she left her legacy in more ways than one.  In 1967 she opened Ruth Elgin Dance Studio and taught thousands of students for over 25 years.  She was also owner of The Insurance Connection; Ruth Dagerath and Associates for over 25 years.

Ruth is survived by her two daughters: Brenda Dalton and husband John of Autsin, TX  and Lacy Dagerath of League City, TX; three sons: Sam Caminade and wife Giovannina of League City, TX, Michael Dagerath and wife Jennie of San Antonio, TX and Morry Dagerath; two brothers: Jeffrey Varnado of Paris, TX and Douglas Lowe of Paris, TX; ten grandchildren: Amber Dalton, John Dalton, Tyler Caminade, Zac Caminade, Ashley Rosa, Madeline Rosa, Jeremy Dagerath, Jonathan Dagerath, Jeffrey Dagerath and Josiah Dagerath; and four great-grandchildren: Sydni Walker, Trinity Cravy, Madison Cravy, and Ember Dalton.  There were numerous Varnado cousins, nieces and nephews and countless lifelong friends… Rosemary, Dave, Jean, Sylviane to name a very few.  Last but not least a special thank you to Wanda for being more than an employee… You were a best friend.

 A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at 6:00PM at the Moody Methodist Church in Galveston, TX with Rev. Charles Bagley officiating.
