Wilbur Stauffer

Wilbur J. (Will) Stauffer, 95, passed away on December 16, 2017 in Webster, TX. He was born on December 6, 1922 in Rockhill, Pennsylvania. Will is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Mary Cecilia Stauffer, and is survived by his children Stephen Stauffer and wife Lupe, Dennis Stauffer, Sharon Stauffer, Karen Stauffer, Patrick Stauffer and wife Winnie, Eric Stauffer and wife Lita, Mark Stauffer and wife Rhonda, and Linda Stauffer; grandchildren Blair Stauffer, Jeremy Robinson and wife Kaitlyn, Corey Robinson and wife Adriana, Cade Stauffer, Shea Stauffer, and Sydney Stauffer; great grandchildren Rex Robinson, Laynie Robinson and Annie Robinson; and sister Nora Hoover.

Will grew up during the Great Depression and never forgot the value of hard work. He served his country during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Force in the European Theater of Operations. After the war he met and married Mary Cecilia Richers and attended Pennsylvania State University. Upon graduating from college, Will was commissioned an officer in the U.S. Air Force, where he spent a career serving his country during the Cold War and received two master’s degrees from the Air Force Institute of Technology. After retiring with the rank of Major from the Air Force, Will worked in support of the space program before moving on to other endeavors. Will attended the Methodist church and was a member of League City United Methodist Church for the last 49 years, where he faithfully sang in the choir and served on numerous committees throughout the years. Will was a friend and blessing to many during his life and will be missed.

A Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 20, 2017 from 6:00-8:00 PM at Crowder Funeral Home 1645 E. Main Street, League City, TX, where funeral services will also be held on Thursday December 21, 2017 at 10:00 AM, followed by internment at Mount Olivet Cemetery, Dickinson, TX.
