Thomas Edward Vaughn passed away peacefully on Monday, October 24, 2016 at his home.  Thomas was born November 30, 1933.

He was preceded in death by his parents Earl and Stella Vaughn of Danville, Virginia and his sister Faye Evans.

He is survived by his wife of sixty years Shirley McDaniel Vaughn, daughter Debra Vaughn Hailey and husband Billy P. Hailey of Rusk, Texas, grandson Billy Paul Hailey II of Rusk, Texas, granddaughter Brigitte Renee Hailey of Texas City, great granddaughter Sadie Renee Hailey of Texas City, and great grandson Jayce Paul Hailey of Rusk, Texas and Special friend, who was considered a granddaughter, Krystal Slocum of Texas City.

Thomas was in the Navy for 8 years and retired from Union Carbide.  He was also a member of First Baptist Church of Texas City, past member of El Mina Shrine of Galveston and past member of Masonic Lodge of Texas City.

Mr. Vaughn requested to be cremated with no special services.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to be sent in his honor to First Baptist Church of Texas City and El Mina Shrine of Galveston.
The family will welcome visitors and friends in their home anytime.
