Jeff Peyton Motley passed away at the age of 75 on September 19, 2026. Jeff was born in Abilene, Texas in 1951 to Zolus and Mary Shaw Motley. The family moved to Beaumont where he graduated from Forest Park High School in 1969. After high school he attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock and remained an avid fan of the Red Raiders. He was a member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity where he made life-long friends.

Jeff’s family was the most important part of his life. He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Diane Wehmeyer Motley. He is also survived by his son, Travis Motley and wife, Catherine of League City, and their daughter, Peyton, and son, Cash; Jeff’s sister, Coco Motley, of Friendswood; his brother, David Motley and wife, Susan, of Kerrville, and their two children, Mary Kate Motley, of San Antonio, and Marshall Motley and wife, Anne, of Houston and their daughter, Charlotte Ann (Charlee).

After graduating from Tech with a Bachelor of Business Administration degree, Jeff started his career with an oilfield supply company in New Jersey. After couple of years in California, Jeff returned to Houston where he worked for several different supply companies until his retirement.

Jeff was a loving husband, father, and brother. He had a great sense of humor and
loved making people laugh. He enjoyed following all the Houston sports teams and
found great pleasure in watching his grandchildren participate in their different athletic
events and extracurricular activities.

Per the family’s request, no service will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Crowder
Funeral Home of Pearland.

Jeff’s joy for life will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
