  2. Thoughts and prayers for the entire family. Sam was a fine man and always loved his family. I enjoyed many years working with Sam and being able to call him my friend. Although it is hard that he is gone I cannot help but think of the joy that he has right now being in the presence of God. Kim, I hope that you and David can find comfort in knowing that he has gone on to be able to watch over you in a stronger and healthier way by being your guardian angel. He knows that you kept watch for so long that it is now time for him to do the same for you both.

    God Bless you all.

  7. I knew Sam as Staff Sergeant Helms in the Marine Corps. I was stationed at Camp Pendleton from 1988-1990 and he was a great platoon leader. He was always smiling and upbeat. He welcomed me to Comm (communication) Platoon and he was loved by the Marines we worked with. Rest in Peace brother Marine. Semper Fi
