Celebration of Life for Richard William Steel

Richard William Steel, born on March 24, 1932, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and lovingly remembered until November 11, 2025, passed away at the age of 93 in League City, Texas. Richard was a dedicated CPA with his own accounting firm and a beloved brother, father, grandfather, and friend. His passion for sailing brought him immense joy, and he shared that love with those around him.

Richard was predeceased by his beloved wife, Katherine, and his son, Matthew. He is survived by his sister, Carolyn Wilson, daughters, Stephanie and Stacey (Thomas), his son-in-law Dave Thomas, three grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, December 7th, 2025, at 2 p.m. at Crowder Funeral Home, located at 111 East Medical Center Boulevard, Webster, Texas . Richard will be laid to rest in Genesee, Wisconsin, in early spring 2026, with a small graveside ceremony.

As we gather to celebrate Richard’s life, we honor the kindness, laughter, and warmth he brought into the lives of everyone who knew him.
