Prentice Maurine Young
Prentice Maurine Young, aged 82, of San Augustine, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2025, at Kindred Hospital in Webster, Texas. Born on December 6, 1943, to Henry Thomas Jeans and Emily Beatrice Brown Jeans.
Maurine met and married the love of her life, the late Joseph Daniel Young in Mauriceville Texas. They were married on December 10, 1960, and were together for sixty-one wonderful years. Her dedication to her family was always first and she loved them as much as they loved her. There was never a doubt where her priorities were when it came to her family. Her Christian faith was strong and was the foundation for the life she built throughout the years.
As a dedicated homemaker, Maurine’s home was always a hub of warmth and love. She had a gift for making people feel welcome and cherished. She was an avid cook where she expressed her creativity by adding a pinch of this or a dab of that resulting in the most wonderful dishes. Outgoing and friendly, she embraced life with open arms and a joyous spirit. Her love for singing and laughter filled the room and brought happiness to all who were fortunate to know her. She took pride in her children and her grandson, and she was a woman of strong faith who believed in the power of prayer.
In honor of our mother’s life, we invite you to join us in celebrating her legacy of love, faith, and resilience. Her spirit will forever be a part of the lives she touched, and her memory will continue to inspire and guide us. We are thankful for the time we had with her and for the love and wisdom she shared with us all. Let us remember our mother for her infectious laughter, her love for life, and her unwavering faith. She will be greatly missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved children, Rhonda Young of New Port Richey, Florida, Lori Young of La Marque, Texas, Gregory and his wife, Laurie Young of Katy, Texas; her only grandchild, Cameron Young of Katy, Texas, her sister, Georgia Bea Collins of Orange, Texas, her sister-in-law, Pearl McGalin of Mauriceville, Texas and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
