Mary Katherine Llewellyn

Mary Katherine Llewellyn, 93, a resident of Webster, TX formerly of La Marque, TX, died peacefully, April 22, 2021, in Webster, TX. Mary Kay was born in Galveston, TX to Brookie and Edward Mares, January 31, 1928. A graduate of Texas Christian University, Mary Kay was a dedicated educator, teaching generations of the children of La Marque in both the first and third grades.  Her legacy is evident in the lives of many adults who have gone on to happy and productive lives.

After retiring from teaching, Mary Kay and her husband Jimmy began a second career establishing their own business, JimKay Crafts.  Together they lovingly created many future antiques that will be cherished by family and more for generations to come.

Mary Kay was a member of Dickinson First United Methodist Church in Dickinson, TX.  Mary Kay was a strongly committed Christian whose faith guided her feet.  She cherished her belief in the life of the world to come, where she is now united with Jimmy, and all those she loved who have been patiently waiting for her.

Mary Kay reunites with her husband of 60 years, William James “Nim” Llewellyn.

Mary Kay leaves behind her daughters: Jan Esther Walker, husband Bill; Kathy Ann Chewning, husband Don; Robin Lynn Llewellyn, and their “4th daughter”, Barb Luikens; grandchildren: Lara Walker Russell; husband Tommy, Rachel Lewis; husband Josh, Stephen House, Michael Toia; wife Ellie, and great grandchildren: Kody Osteen, Sydney Osteen, Iziah House, Jaxon Toia, Justin Lewis, and Blake Lewis.

There will be a celebration of life service at Dickinson First United Methodist Church in Dickinson, TX, on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at 11:00 am.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to any of the many nonprofits in Texas supporting the work to help young people grow and thrive in their communities and schools.  Please check out Youth-Communities Foundation of Texas (cftexas.org) to see where your heart may lead you to contribute.

  2. Deepest Sympathies to the family of Mary Katherine Llewellyn. Mrs. Llewellyn was always very polite and nice when we would meet up. Prayers for God to continue Strength, Support, and Peace to her family !!!!
