Mary Helen Campos
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Mary Helen Campos, 74, of Alvin, TX, who passed away surrounded by her loved ones on May 19, 2025.
Born on December 1, 1950, in Freeport, TX, Mary Helen was a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was known for her steadfast love of our Lord Jesus, as well as her kindness, strength, sense of humor, and having a generous and encouraging spirit.
Mary Helen is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Joseph; son, Jeff Joseph (Cynthia); their father, William “Bill” Joseph; grandchildren, Diego and Daniela Flores; Gavin Joseph; sisters, Gracie Escobedo, Elva Campos (Roger), Mary Rose Soria; brothers, Hector Campos (Gloria) and Mario Campos (Mary Alice). She was preceded in death by her parents, Roberto and Eva Campos; brothers; Robert Campos Jr. and John Campos.
Mary Helen touched the lives of many people. She dedicated numerous years to working in early childcare and education. She went on to retire from the Space Family Education Program at NASA. She loved working with and caring for all children.
A burial will be held on Friday, May 23, 2025 at 1:00pm at Restwood Funeral Home & Mermorial Park in Clute, Texas. A celebration of life will be held Friday, May 30, 2025, at 6:00pm at Praise Chapel in Webster, TX.
Though she is no longer with us in person, Mary Helen’s love will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Rest in peace true and faithful servant. May the Lord’s peace and grace comfort the family of Mary Helen. I have fond memories of all our young cousins from the days of summer in Freeport, Velasco and Surfside. Lots of love and fun and commaradery.
