Lt. Colonel Wayne L. Wentworth, Ret.

Lt. Colonel Wayne L. Wentworth, Ret., 99, resident of Houston, Texas passed peacefully from this life, Saturday, January 4, 2020, He was born in Kingsville, Texas to proud and loving parents, Stanley and Vida Wentworth on January 3, 1921. Wayne was proud to have served his country as a pilot in the U. S. Airforce. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Wayne leaves behind to cherish his amazing lifetime of memories, his wife, Florine Wentworth; daughters, Marcy Leonard and Janey Hewitt; sons, Patrick Dennis Wentworth and Wayne Loren Wentworth, Jr.; and Max Tezanos, step-son; as well as numerous family and friends.

In his honor a graveside service will be held 12:30 PM, on Saturday, January 11, 2020, at Sunset Memorial Park, 1701 Austin Hwy., San Antonio, Texas under the direction of Crowder Funeral Home, Dickinson, Texas.

We knew Wayne from our traveling days, when the four of us jumped on a plane or or ship going to some far away place.. many, many stories from long ago, even a bit of his time as a POW in Germany. We will always remember and cherish those days traveling with Wayne and his wife Flo. Our prayer is that he is now with his old flying buddies in the dark squadron
