  6. A tribute to Dr Yookwesi Sackey

Yookwesi, wasn’t just a schoolmate and housemate at Mfantsipim and Ghana Medical School; he was a true gentleman who left a lasting impression on me.
From our days in Pickard-Parker House I remember his friendliness and gentle nature He was always prepared to help, and his intelligences was something I always admired.
Even after Mfantsipim, in Nedical school he continued to be my role model. His dignity was and poise were qualities I strived to emulate in my own life.
The world has lost a truly special person, but Yookwesis’s memory will continue to inspire me. Rest in peace, my friend.

    Again

My Dear friend rest in Really Perfect Peace

  10. Uncle Yokwesi, the news of your death came as a shock to me.
Childhood memories came flooding back, for that is all I have of you.
I still remember your big smile and gentle demeanor.
My most recent memories are of you visiting my family on your trips to Ghana.
Traveling the globe in my adult years as I pursued my career, meant you were out
of my life but not out of my memory or my heart.
You achieved much in this life and in your career, that few in our line of work can boast of. Your commitment to the human situation and dedication to making it better is much admired by your ilk.
You have fought a good fight, now rest in eternal glory in the bosom of your creator.
Uncle Yokwesi, nantsew yie, damirifa due, due. Due ne amanehunu.
    Fare thee well.

  11. It was a shock to me when I heard of the passing into Glory of my learning mate, Yoo Kwesi Sackey. He in Mfantsipim Secondary School and I in Holy Child Secondary School. Both of us were studious and we enjoyed exchanging Science Notes. I must say that I benefited more from him. We became great platonic friends from 1965 to 1968, when he went to Legon Medical School and I to KUST, School of Pharmacy. We continued our friendship until after graduations. I never heard from Yookwesi nor Saw him after fifty six years! I had wished that we would see each other again in our old age for a long chat about what great things the Lord had done for us, but, to hear of such devastating news broke me down! However, I felt happy when I had learned that Eugenia Warman, my little Sister from Holy Child School, became Dr. Yookwesi Sackey’s wife! I never had their phone number to contact them. Eugenia, Sons, grand children, Sister Marian and the brothers,I wish you my deepest condolences and we pray that my good old friend, Yookwesi’s soul will rest in perfect peace and rise in Glory! He will be sorely missed by all who knew him Eugenia “ Sh3 Dzen!
YooKwesi you will be sorely missed! Rest in perfect peace and rise in Glory.
Eugenia I know you are in pains but be assured that Jesus Mary and Joseph will surely comfort you now and always. With God nothing is impossible.

  16. Eugenia Marie, my sister, all is well. The battle has ended
and you have fought a good fight.
I pray that you are consoled knowing our lives have already been portioned out to us by the Lord and therefore we needn’t fear when the end comes.
I never met your dear husband, Yookwesi, but you shared with me the wonderful attributes that made him the love of your life.
The loss is huge, but I pray the Lord brings you, your sons, and grandchildren, and entire families great solace.
May the soul of Yookwesi find peace and eternal rest in the Lord.
