Miss you, mom. I will forever be grateful for all you did for me. Teaching me about the arts, history, and literature. Encouraging me to travel and explore the world. Spending time with me every summer at the Rosenberg Library and toting and all my friends around to ensure we had the best summers possible. Each sweet memory I have of you will be cherished and shared just as you kept grandma’s legacy alive through storytelling with each of your grandchildren. Your life impacted so many people from your friends in your neighborhood, our family, your friends, to teachers you mentored, to the students you advocated for, supported, and challenged to be their best. I hope you know your life made an impact and that you are leaving behind a legacy of people who were enriched by having you in their lives.
I love you.
I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Sylvia. She was one of my neighbors on my row and was always so kind. I will miss chatting with her. My sincere condoloences to her family. I was making a digital painting of a desert scene with a came as a giftl, since she had shared with me her travels and work over in Cairo. If one of her family members sees this, please let me know how I can get either the file or a print over to you. Again, so sorry for y’all’s loss. She was a wonderful neighbor and will be missed.
That is so sweet and yes we would love to have such a thoughtful gift. We are working on dates for when I will be in town again and I am happy to meet you at my mom’s condo. Alternatively, we could ask Jennifer to hold onto it. I’ll make sure she knows it’s okay to pass my phone number on to you so we can figure something out. You are also more than welcome to attend the service if you are able to make it.
I’ll let Jennifer at the office know that we would like to coordinate. I’ll be in town for sure Monday July 7th and Tuesday July 8th but I’m sure we will come into town sooner.
Thanks for being a friend to my mom. I know that her friends at the condos meant a lot to her.
Best,
Kate Boggess Voor
Walking to and from the mailroom is not the same without Sylvia calling out your name from her balcony and stopping for a chat. Sylvia was always smiling and had a cheerful laugh. She lived such an interesting life. I will miss her in our courtyard.
Thanks Anita. I really appreciate your kind words and love hearing all the stories the neighbors have about their time with my mom. I hope you know how much she enjoyed catching up with everyone and I truly appreciate all of you. I was worried when my mom moved back from Egypt and that she may be lonely. The community she was apart of ensured that was never the case and it means so much to know how many people enjoyed their talks with my mom.

I am just hearing about your mom’s departure. I am so very sorry. We went to school together starting at Sacred Heart School. Your grandmother used to let us all spend the night from time to time! It was all great fun. Your Mom is a beautiful person inside and out. I will never forget how kind a person she remained, all her life. I have Sylvia , you and your family in my prayers. Sincerely, Carol Perez Borne.
