Keith Darryl Goodgame

April 17, 1943 – September 14, 2026

Keith Goodgame was born on April 17, 1943 to Darrell and Nevil Goodgame in Galveston, Texas. BOI. He arrived 6 minutes before his twin brother, Kenny, beginning a lifelong bond that would remain one of the most special relationships in his life. Growing up on the island, Keith and Kenny shared a love of baseball and football, with their father proudly serving as their coach.

Keith was proud of his island roots. He graduated from Ball High School in 1961, where he was a member of the Ball High Tors football and baseball teams. His love of sports remained with him throughout his life, especially his love for golf. Few things brought him more enjoyment than time spent on the golf course.

In 1964, he married his high school sweetheart Ginger Stein, beginning a life together filled with family, faith, and countless memories that lasted 62 years. Together, they built a family that grew into a beautiful legacy.

Keith also took great pride in his career as a crane and heavy rigging salesman, a job that suited him perfectly. He genuinely loved his work, but perhaps even more, he loved the people he met along the way. With his gift of conversation and his ability to never know a stranger, he never met a customer he couldn’t talk to. His love for the crane business followed him well beyond the workday. No family drive was complete without Keith spotting a crane along the way and proudly pointing it out to everyone in the car. It became one of those little things that was simply “Keith,” and now, whenever his family passes a crane, they will undoubtedly think of him.

Anyone who knew Keith knew there was rarely a dull moment when he was around. A true jokester at heart, he loved making people laugh and never missed an opportunity to share a joke or bring a smile to someone’s face. He truly never met a stranger. Whether he had known you for decades or had only just met you, he had a way of making you feel like an old friend. His humor, warmth, and larger than life personality will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Beneath all of Keith’s jokes and huge personality was an incredibly sweet and tender heart. He loved his family fiercely and without reservation, and there was never any question how much they meant to him. He was so proud of his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and nothing brought him greater joy than simply being surrounded by the people he loved. He was steady and unconditional, the kind of love that leaves an imprint on a family for generations.

Keith is preceded in passing by his parents, Darrell and Nevil Goodgame. He is survived by his wife, Ginger Goodgame, brother Kenny Goodgame, children Kelley Jackson (Jimmy), Brady Goodgame, his grandchildren Taylor Coomer (Tommy), Brooke Crum (Dustin), Jordan Jackson (Laney), Logan Jackson, and Gage Goodgame. He is also survived by his great grandchildren Raven, Camri, Brody, Jagger, Claire, and Jordie.

Services will be held at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church in Dickinson, Texas, on October 17th at 1pm with a reception immediately following in the parish hall. 4613 State Hwy 3, Dickinson, Texas 77539.

His family invites all who knew and loved him to join them in celebrating a life well lived—a life filled with faith, family, friendship, and plenty of laughter. In lieu of flowers, his family is asking for donations to be made to Holy Trinity Episcopal Church.
