Joslyn Imelda Bailey – “GONE TOO SOON”

Joslyn Imelda Bailey- Loving Mother, Grandmother, Daughter, Sister and Aunt

That which we call a rose, by Any Other Name would smell as sweet. So let this be said of Joslyn Imelda Bailey. Joslyn was one of six siblings born to James and Miriam Bailey. Because of her father’s profession, the family moved frequently among the islands but eventually settled and completed her education in Antigua. While still in her late teens she moved to Tortola in the BVI where she managed a restaurant and later moved to the USA.
After visiting many states, Joslyn landed in the windy city of Chicago and there began a career as a personal care nurse. She soon gave birth to her son TEK Kioutas followed several years later by Scarlet Kioutas. Perhaps it was the cold weather or just the need to be close to family but Joslyn decided to move to Houston. In Houston she found herself and began to excel in her chosen career. Joslyn loved to help people who were unable to help themselves and carried out her duties with dignity and humility to those she served.
Joslyn had an infectious smile and a bubbly personality. Her discussions were always centered around philosophical, spiritual and religious topics. Joslyn loved the finer things in life, in fact she was a hopeless romantic who saw herself as a princess waiting for her real-life prince.
Several years ago, Joslyn became a Grandmother and loved to visit with her grandchildren.
Joslyn is preceded in death by her father, James Bailey and her sister, Cedris Bailey. She is survived by her Children, Tek and Scarlett, her mother, Miriam Bailey, her sisters Yolanda, Josette and Gaynelle and her only brother Trevor, five grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and two brothers-in-law.
Your family will miss you, dear Joslyn. While your song is ended, your melody will live forever in our hearts and in our memories.

  1. My Aunt was a free spirit who did things her way. She was outgoing, sweet and loved by those who met her. She will be missed by her family and friends.

  2. My Dear Sister,
Your sudden leaving has left a hole in our hearts that will never be filled. Your optimism, your love for your family and most of all your giving nature will always be remembered.

Rest in peace, Joslyn, as your spirit makes it way to our heavenly father.

    “Thank you ever so kindly!”

  3. Gone too soon, indeed!
Dear Sis, none of us expected your call to be with Our Maker when He made the call.
We are aware, however, that His will must be done.

Hence we are comforted by the thought that having been called to your eternal rest you are in a better place…in that house, not made by hands, eternal in the Heavens.
You have left us fond memories which we will forever cherish, until that time when we will meet again.
    Missing you greatly!
Peace and much love to you, Dear Sis.

    Your brother,
    Trevor

  5. Sis,
Words cannot begin to describe how I feel. It was truly TOO SOON but I have come to accept it because God needed you more since everything is done by His will and for the good of His glory.

Through it all, though, I am very happy that our last gathering was in celebration of your birthday. You were the center of attention. We were happy and Mom played her famous rendition of “Happy Birthday” on the harmonica. It was truly a joyous time and lots of memories will remain with us for a very long time. Thank you for gracing us with your presence here on earth.

The love for your children and family were observed by everyone. Tek now has the Bible in his possession and Scarlet honored your favorite color at your Home Going Service.

Rest in peace, Joslyn, and for everyone you encounter, I know that they will soon come to recognize “Thank you ever so kindly” as your phrase.

    (2) “In my Father’s house there are many dwelling places. If there were not, would I have told you that I am going to prepare a place for you? (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back again and take you to myself, so that where I am you also may be. (4) Where I am going you know the way.” (John 14: 2-4)

    I Love You, Joslyn!

  6. Josie,

I was sad beyond words to hear the news, but our bond was special and oh boy have we shared some exciting days together. I will always hold dear the memories of our talks while walking to the corner store while the girls were in school, or the time we both had to walk them to the doctor’s office because they both got sick at the same time chasing those kittens. I already miss my girlfriend, but you have left an imprint on my heart that will forever be there. I love you, Josie.

    With love,
    Ms. Gloria

  7. Hi and Hello Mom!!!

Gone far too soon!!! But I know God has plans for you and that you will always be watching over me. I pray that I continue to make you proud. I am forever thankful for everything you have done for me and the time we shared during your precious time here on Earth. I love you so much Mom and I will miss you more than words can express. In your memory I have made my 2019 mantra “Make each day count! Enjoy your life! Have fun! Be Happy!”

    Love,
    Scarlett

  8. The bible tells us why you do not even know what will happen tomorrow what is your life? You’re a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. James 4:14. It is so sad to learn of a dear cousin taken away from us so suddenly, but God knows best.
