John Lee Bennett

John Lee Bennett, 57, of La Marque, Texas passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2025 in La Marque, Texas. He was born on August 26, 1967 to John Leo and Christine Wendt Bennett of Texas City, Texas.

He was a graduate from Texas City High School Class of 1986. John was a resident of La Marque but formerly from Texas City. He worked at Saber Power Services as part of the Saber power field services for 13 years.

He is preceded In death by his parents.

John is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sarah, along with their children Carin and John; brother Arnold Eugene Grupe and wife Dora; sister, Ruth Grupe Mills; brother, Patrick Bennett and partner, Nikki; sister, Cathy Higgs McCord; sister, Margaret Bradford and husband Bobby; sister, Mary Dewitt and husband Aubrey. In addition, there are many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, from 5:00-7:00pm, at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, Texas. Funeral services will be at 10:00am, Wednesday, May 7, 2025, at Crowder Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery in Hitchcock, Texas.

Pallbearers will be John Bennett, Jack Bennett, Frankie Abalos, James Bruner, Wesley Burns, Ramsey Ramirez, and Garrett Hunter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Anika Bell-Grey, Dr. Hirani, and Houston Methodist care team.

  4. Believe it or not I remember the day he was born. His sister Ruth and I have been friends since the third grade. I remember him as a good kid. He will surely be missed by all. My condolences to all of the family.
