James W. Schott

James W. Schott, (83) of Texas City, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022 in Texas City. He was born on May 5, 1939 in Galveston to Lester and Alice Schott.

James was a Crane Operator in the Oil Fields. He loved to hunt and work on cars, and devoted his life to his loving wife, Sharron.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers-in-law Damon Kaluza Sr., William Kaluza, Jerry Ryan and Samuel Rawls, sisters-in-law Linda Ryan and Dolores Rawls, and his friend Jack Kivch.

James is survived by his wife Sharron “K.K.” Schott, sister Mildred Zorn (Raymond), sister-in-law Carolyn Wilson (Bill), nieces and nephews: JoAnn Wilson, Kimberly Davis (Jerry), William Wilson (Elaine), and Brandi Stone, great nephews and nieces: Jerry and Jensen Davis, Xander, Anorah and Marvel Wilson, Bella and Julie Stone, and his close friends: Betty, Maria (Quinten Mays), Nathan and Natalie Branch, and Marissa Mays.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 10AM – 11AM at the James Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque. A graveside Funeral Service and interment will follow at 11:30 AM at the Galveston Memorial Park Cemetery on FM 519 in Hitchcock with Brother Kevin Owens officiating.

  1. Oh uncle JJ, my heart hurts. I know you are in heaven with Big Damon and Damon Jr. and lots of family and friends . Give them all hugs for me. You will forever be missed but never ever forgotten. We love you uncle James.

  3. Although we were not related,He will always be “Uncle James”
    to me.He was always kind and witty.I remember him going out in the freezing cold to work on my car.Just a small example of his sacrifice to always help others! He and KK
    will always be well remembered and dear to my heart.
