Carrol Wainwright

Carrol Wainwright, 74, a resident of Santa Fe, Texas passed from this life on December 22, 2023. He was born on June 22, 1949 in West Baton Rouge LA to parents, Sitman Lenoir Wainwright and Mary Ellazine Kinchen.

Carrol proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

He had a career as an electrician.

Carrol is preceded in death by his parents, siblings Charles, Harry, Freddie, Emerson and Becky Wainwright and his grandaughter, Camri Wainwright.

He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Schwertner and husband, Brandon and his son, Trampis Wainwright and wife, Donnann, his grandchildren, Lynzi O’Grady and husband, Tim, Layci Burns and husband Travis, Colton Wainwright and Chloe Wainwright, his great grandchildren, Kyler, Kannon, Garon, Lanei, Lemmei, Imelda and Sawyer. Sister Patricia (To To), and brothers Sitman, Terry, Jimmy and Tommy Wainwright. Along with several nieces, great nieces, nephews and great nephews.

In his honor, there will be a visitation on Friday, December 29, 2023 from 10:00am to 11:00am at Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson with funeral service to follow at 11:00am. Interment will follow the service at Hayes Grace Memorial Park Cemetery in Santa Fe, Texas.

  3. Condolences to the family.
    I served with Carrol on board the USS Charles S Sperry DD697. Many from the Sperry remember Carrol when we meet at our annual reunion for the ship. He was a good man and liked by his shipmates.
