Captain Bill Evans, 78, of LaMarque, TX passed away on Friday, April 10, 2015.  He was born on July 18, 1936 to Pat Evans and Lyda Koen in Galveston, TX.

Captain Bill was a Sportfish Boat Captain and served in the Navy.  He was a beloved husband, proud father and grandfather and will be missed dearly by all who loved him.

Captain Bill is survived by his wife of 33 years, Jerry Evans, sons Kenny Rutherford and wife Terri; Kelly Rutherford and wife Alice; Troy Evans and wife Lori; grandchildren, Jacob, Micah, Brad, Chelsei, Megan, Morgan, and William; sibling, Charlie Evans; many nieces, nephews, great grandchildren and friends.

The memorial service & celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April, 25, 2015 at 4:00 P.M. Galveston Yacht Basin – Club House, 601 N Holiday Drive Galveston, TX 77550.

  6. I had the privilege of 2 trips with Captain Bill, I sat and spoke to him one afternoon for about an hour listening to his stories, I could have sat there for 10 hours. He was a salty hardened veteran of the sea and I truly enjoyed getting my small share of his life. Anchors away my friend.

  11. Lucky to have spent a little time with Captain Bill in the 80’s aboard my Dad’s boat, the Topaz III. Everyone had great respect for Captain Bill Evans. He was just a great person, always very professional yet fun to be around, putting everyone at ease. A truly great man!!
