Jerome “Jerry” Wayne Blaylock
Jerome “Jerry” Wayne Blaylock, of Houston TX / Clear Lake, passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, in Webster, Texas at the age of 87.
He was born on January 18, 1938 in St. Paul Minnesota to Sevilla Marcel “Snook” Edwards, which he was later adopted by Denver Halden “Pete” Blaylock. Mr. Blaylock married Lynda Kay Clegg before adopting their son Jason Michael Blaylock, which they were later divorced.
Jerry loved traveling and exploring places in his younger days, and spending time with his Son, Daughter-in-law and grandchildren as much as he could. Jerry was a former boy scout and Scout Master, which he was very focused on from a young age, collecting scout patches and other boy scout items. He also loved coin collecting and genealogy. Jerry achieved multiple college degrees over the years from a B.S. in mathematics, a Ph.D. in computer science, an Ed.D. in human services to a M.A. degree in counseling. Jerry had multiple careers over the years from working at NASA, teaching at universities to working at multiple military bases, which he later became the district commander of the 22nd Texas district American Legion.
He was preceded in death by Sevilla Marcel “Snook” Edwards and Denver Halden “Pete” Blaylock
He is survived by his son Jason Michael Blaylock, wife Angela Genell Blaylock and grandchildren Isabella Rose Blaylock, Brody Michael Blaylock, and Bailey Kay Blaylock.
A Grave Side Ceremony will be held on Monday, June 9, 2025 at 9:30am at Houston
