Jimmy Louis Stephens

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jimmy Louis Stephens, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather. and dedicated school administrator, who left us peacefully on April 25, 2026, at the age of 80.

Born on July 22, 1945, in Nacogdoches, Texas,  Jim was a  true man of God who treated others with dignity, respect and love.  He devoted over 50 years to the field of education, serving as a teacher at Clear Creek High School, Biology Department Head at Clear Lake High School, and Principal at Seabrook Intermediate, Space Center Intermediate, Weber Elementary, and Robinson Elementary,  with unwavering commitment and passion. Robinson Elementary dedicated its library in his honor and it bears his name. His leadership and dedication shaped the lives of countless students and educators, inspiring a love for learning in everyone he encountered.

Beyond his professional achievements, Jim was a pillar of strength and support for his family. He cherished his role as a husband to his wife of 58 years, Cheryl Stephens, offering unwavering love and companionship. As a father, he helped raise two children, instilling in them Christian values of kindness, integrity, and perseverance. His grandchildren and great-grandson were his pride and joy, and he poured his heart into nurturing their dreams and aspirations.

Jim was involved in his church community. His faith was a guiding force in his life, and he gave generously of himself.

He is proceeded in death by his loving wife of 58 years, Cheryl Stephens, brother George Stephens, and sister Mary Jane Thomas. Jim is survived by sister Kay Lines, and his children, Jill Ball (Cary) and Jeff Stephens (Colleen), his cherished grandchildren, Kirby Ball (Deah), Brandon Ball, Lyndsey Ball, Kylie Ball, Isaac Stephens, Tallulah Stephens, Penelope Stephens, and great grandson, Sebastian Ball.

A celebration of his  life will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at 10:30 at Nassau Bay Baptist Church, 18131 Nassau Bay Drive, Nassau Bay, Texas.

Though he may no longer be with us, Jim’s  love and impact will forever resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.

  1. Mr. Stephens you were my hero as a Principal. I loved working for you. I was so fortunate to work in the Robinson school library for you that was named for you while I still worked there. We were SO excited to honor you in that way at your retirement. You were the best ever. We will miss you but Im happy that you are reunited with your beloved Cheryl.
