William “Bill” Edway Veit

William “Bill” Edway Veit, 85, a resident of Houston, TX since 1983 passed away on February 4, 2020 in Houston, TX. Bill was born on July 13, 1934 to Elmer and Myrtle Veit in Rockford, IL. He served his country in the U.S Army.

Bill reunites with his wife of 41 years, Barbara Veit; sons: Charles Hooper Jr and Richard Hooper Sr. and his wife Nancy: his parents; and brother, Robert “Bob” Veit.

Bill leaves behind his daughters: Linda Lamm and Susan Hooper; sons: Hans Veit, wife Lisa, Scott Veit, wife Amy and Scott Hooper, wife Karen; grandchildren: Chrissie Gore, husband Mike, Tyler Hooper, Morgan Hooper, Lynn Marie Davenport, husband Steve, William Hooper, Rick Hooper Jr., Karyn Audrey Hooper Bagnall, husband Joe, Katrina Veit, Alex Veit, Erica Veit and Abby Veit; great grandchildren: Stella Gore, Sophia Davenport, Hannah Davenport, Tess Davenport, Nora Davenport, Lucas Hooper, Avery Hooper, Becca Hooper and Miles Gore; sister, Lois Allen, husband Will; brother, Richard “Dick” Veit, wife Joyce.

A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 10, 2020 with a service to begin at 12:30 p.m. in the chapel of Crowder Funeral Home 2422 E. Broadway St. Pearland, TX 77581. Entombment to follow at Forest Park Lawndale in Houston, TX.

Pallbearers will be Ed Lee, Mike Gore, Rick Hooper, Jr., Hans Veit, Alex Veit and Mike Woodruff.

Sorry about Bill – will always have warm memories of him as a child – my mother passed when I was young with 2 other sisters and he had no children at the time and volunteered to care for us during vacations with his previous wife and its some of the best times I remember as a child being with them – thank you and may u be blessed always for those memories
