Lupe Silva Cantu, 90 years, of Texas City, passed away on September 5, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. She was born on March 28, 1936, in Skidmore, Texas.

Lupe was known for her kindness, strength, and deep compassion. She carried a gentle spirit, a steady faith, and a heart that welcomed everyone. Those who knew her remember a person marked by generosity, humility, and a quiet courage that shaped every part of her life. Whether through encouraging words, acts of service, or simple everyday kindness, Lupe Cantu left a legacy of love, grace, and faithfulness that will continue to impact generations.

Lupe was the beloved daughter of Maximiano & Olivia Silva. She grew up in Skidmore, Texas and later built a life rooted in family, faith, and love.

She married Juan Cantu Sr. on November 30, 1968, and together they created a home marked by strength, laughter, and unwavering devotion for 58 years. As a mother/grandmother, she poured her heart into her children, and grandchildren, teaching them the values of kindness, integrity, and faithfulness. She found joy in every moment spent with family, whether through simple conversations, shared meals, or celebrations that brought everyone together.

Faith was the foundation of her life. She lived with a quiet, steady trust in God – a faith expressed not only in words, but in how she loved, how she served, and how she treated others. Those who knew her remember a person whose faith shaped her character, guided her decisions, and inspired everyone around her.

She once worked as a sales person for Schwarts and sales manager for The Fair, where she was known for her dedication, professionalism, and strong work ethic. In her quieter moments, Lupe found joy spending time in embroidery, dancing, drawing, and cooking meals that reflected her personality and passions. These simple pleasures brought her happiness and created memories that loved one will always cherish.

Those who knew Lupe remember her qualities that shaped every relationship and every moment of her life. She carried a steady strength, a welcoming spirit, and a grace that made people feel seen, valued, and loved. She definitely left an unmistakable imprint of warmth, faithfulness, and love on everyone she met. Her presence was a gift from God, and her legacy will continue in the lives she touched.

She is survived by: her husband: Juan Cantu, her Son’s: Curtis Roque (Virginia), Ricky Roque (Rosemary), Anthony Roque (Janna), Juan Cantu Jr. (Bridette), her Daughter’s: Belinda Murphy (Michael), Norma Jean Ruiz (Guadalupe), Christina Cantu, Maria Cantu , her 30 Grandchildren, 4  Step-Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren, 11 Step-Great Grandchildren, and 11 Great-Great Grandchildren and other close families or friends.  She is preceded in death by: (Parents) Maximiano & Olivia Silva, (Brothers) Raymond Silva, Thomas Silva, Jose Silva, (Sister) Estela Silva, (Grandson) Shawn Roque and (Great Grandson) Sergio Roque Jr.

A celebration of life will be held at CrossPointe Community Church on September 14, 2026. Visitation will be start at 12pm, Celebration of Life service will begin at 1pm, and a repast will follow after the service.  The graveside burial service will take place the following morning September 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery in Dickinson, Texas.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Crowder Funeral Home in La Marque.

Pallbearers: Curtis Roque Jr., Ricky Roque Jr., Alberto De Los Santos III, Michael Thomas Murphy II, Maria Cantu, and Juan Cantu III (Trey). Honorary Pallbearers are Raymond Murphy and Joshua Ruiz.

The family extends their deepest gratitude to the caretakers, medical staff, church family, and friends whose love, support, and kindness carried us through the season.
