Shirley Ruth Yancey Warren

Shirley Ruth Yancey Warren, 92 of La Marque, TX passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2024 in League City, TX.  She was born September 3, 1931 in Waco, TX to Roy and Eugenia Yancey.

Shirley was a resident of Alvin, formerly from La Marque and Santa Fe. She was a member of Highlands Baptist Church, Daughter of The Nile and Eastern Star.  Shirley retired as an Operator with Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and was a Substitute Teacher for Hitchcock, La Marque and Galveston School Districts.

Shirley is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Billy Ray Warren, her sister, NanaBeth and brother John Albert.  She is survived by her daughters; Janice Lynn Neumann (George) and Cynthia Lynn Stidham (Donald, Jr.) son David Lynn Warren (Candace) and sister Barbara Jean Bunge (John), six grandchildren; Tracy Lynn McPhee (Shaun), Ashley Lee (Jon), Michael Neumann (Holly), Dana Warren and Gary Baker, Erin Figuero (Tony) and Lauren Elizabeth Sheer (Jim) and 11 great grandchildren.

Shirley was a devout Christian and walked with Christ in everything she did. She loved to sing and was a member of the Highland Baptist Church choir. Shirley passed down her love for Christ and his love of us by teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren “Jesus Loves Me.”

A visitation will be on Monday, April 8, 2024 from 4:00pm- 5:30pm at the Crowder Funeral Home in Dickinson, TX with the funeral service at 5:30pm with Pastor Jack Ewing officiating. A graveside service will be at 2:00pm on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at the Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, Texas.




  1. Shirley was a caring and kind person. I loved visiting her and Uncle Bill when I was in the Warren family. My sincerest sympathy to Janice, Cindy and David and their families. May Shirley rest in peace.
