Rose Jolly Callicotte

Rose Jolly Callicotte entered into Heaven on Thursday, November 3, 2022 at the age of 91. Born in Tickfaw, La, on July 4, 1931, Rose lived most of her life in Jasper, Texas. At the age of 83, she moved to Dickinson, Texas and lived the remainder of her life there close to her family.

Rose worked for First State Bank (Southside Bank) in Jasper for many years and had a host of friends and co-workers on her job. She attended St. Michaels Catholic Church in Jasper where she faithfully served for over 50 years.

She loved to cook, garden, tend to her flowers and serve others by baking a cake or bringing a meal. Rose loved her grandchildren beyond measure and they share many happy memories of their time with “Giggy”. Rose was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend and she will be missed by so many whose lives she touched.

Rose is preceded in death by her husband, Royce Callicotte, her daughter Michelle Harvey, her granddaughter Angela Nicole Hallam, her parents Peter and Mary (Cardella) Scardina, brothers, Sam, Carlo, Joseph, Anthony, and Michael and sisters Guydia “Tiny”, Lucille, Phyllis and Mary. Rose is also preceded in death by her first husband, Maurice Newton Jolly.

Rose is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Cynthia and Walter Hallam, granddaughters Catherine (Joshua) Rudolph and Jennifer (Gerardo) Garcia and seven great-grandchildren, Mercedes Nicole DiAnn Rudolph, Maverick Rudolph, Maclaren Rudolph, Kellen Garcia, River Rose Garcia, Luca Garcia and Indie Angela Garcia and Son-in-law Jay Harvey. In addition to these, Rose is survived by her Louisiana family of nieces and nephews who were very special to her.

A graveside service will be Thursday, November 10, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Forest Park East Funeral Home and Cemetery at 21620 Gulf Freeway Frontage Road, Webster, Texas.
